Employee Fundraising
Office based fundraising is an excellent way to have some fun with work colleagues and raise some serious money. It is a great way to build team spirit in and away from the office and give your staff the initiative to achieve. There are all sorts of activities your staff could take part in, from coffee mornings to sponsored activities, to team challenges. Please let us know if you're planning an event and well do our best to support you. Here are just a few ideas to get you going:
- Matched giving how about asking your company to match the money raised they could match give a particular activity during the event, such as a sponsored bike ride. If a company is not happy to match every penny then suggest that they match every donation to a certain level, say £500 or £1000.
- Dress down day - charge to participate
- Charge to do the tea run
- Find out if your Company has a newsletter or magazine that could circulate an article about the Appeal and the events that you are holding to fundraise for it.
- Advertise on your staff notice board. If your business has an e-mail or internet facility find out if you will be able to use it to help spread the word about the event you are taking part in.
- Ask suppliers to your organisation whether they may be willing to sponsor you for the Appeal. Remember - they rely on your organisation for business and are often found to be a good contact and very supportive with sponsorship. Make sure that you ask your employer first before contacting people - check this is not against company policy
Once you've completed the fundraising don't forget to give us
some details and photographs so we can feature you in our
newsletters and website.
Ready to start fundraising?
If you are ready to start fundraising for the Appeal you need to contact us so we can send you an Authority to Fundraise. This official documentation is a bit like a certificate which confirms that you are fundraising on our behalf. It can very handy if you are planning on asking businesses or suppliers for prizes or gifts. Why not read our Fundraising Tips for more advice on organising an event.
